Update on Levitt LA Summer Concerts
Given the ongoing uncertainty due to the COVID-19 pandemic surrounding when public gatherings in Los Angeles will once again be permitted, let alone encouraged and celebrated, and out of great concern for the health, safety and well-being of our community, Levitt Pavilion Los Angeles has made the difficult decision to cancel our 2020 summer concert season.
This decision did not come easily, as it impacts many people in our community, including our dedicated Levitt LA staff and crew, artists, presenting partners, community partners, volunteers, vendors and sponsors, in addition to the tens of thousands of friends, families and neighbors who enjoy free Levitt LA concerts in MacArthur Park every summer.
As we navigate this unprecedented time, in addition to safeguarding the health of our community, we also had to consider the long-term sustainability of our nonprofit organization. If we continued to move forward with planning this summer’s concert season and concerts were then cancelled following mandates from local government and public health authorities, Levitt Pavilion Los Angeles would suffer devastating financial losses. During this time, the Levitt LA staff will be taking a hiatus, with plans to return in a few months to begin planning for the 2021 concert season at the Levitt Pavilion in MacArthur Park.
In these most challenging times, we will continue to play our part in shining a light on the incredible organizations and artists that contribute to the MacArthur Park neighborhood’s cultural vibrancy. Stay tuned to Levitt LA’s social media, as we spotlight the community, post live streaming performances and share updates for the 2021 concert season.
While for now the show must not go on, we look forward to when we can all once again come together on the Levitt LA lawn and experience the joy of free, live music under the stars. Until we meet again, your ongoing support of Levitt Pavilion Los Angeles is deeply appreciated as we continue our mission of building community through music.
